PRA Disease is a genetic disorder that affects the eyes of your dog and can eventually cause blindness. Pra disease causes the eyes to have degenerative tissue and creates the onset of toxic cataracts that offer no way to restore vision lost. The symptoms typically come in glassiness in eyes of your pet, loss of night vision, and dilated pupils. While there is no cure for PRA Disease, there are some things you can do to help your pet live a long happy life with the disease. There are some antioxidants that can be given to your dog that will slow the onset of the final stages of the disease, sometimes preventing your pet from going completely blind. Also remember that you will grieve much more than your dog, because they will happily adjust to their environment using their super keen other senses, so help your pet by staying positive.
